The 3rd-generation Sentinels (also known as G3s) specialize in attacking from long range, destroying crowds of kaiju while remaining safely near the terminal. Their offensive power is on par with the 1st generation Sentinels, and they are an incredibly vital part of the team from beginning to end. Here are the best choices of armaments and equipment for the G3 Sentinels.

10 Wide-Range Railgun

The Wide-Range Railgun is a special version of the Main Battery Heavy Railgun that only Natsuno Minami can use. This version sacrifices power in exchange for hitting a much larger area. This makes it a better option for crowd control and dealing with large amounts of kaiju.

While the Wide-Range Railgun is great for clearing away swarms of smaller kaiju, it may struggle to deal much damage against larger boss kaiju. Nevertheless, it is still a strong tool for when there are an uncontrollable amount of kaiju on the screen.

9 Long-Range Missiles

Long-Range Missiles is one of the G3 Sentinels’ many long-ranged attacks. This attack fires missiles into a targeted area, hitting all kaiju within it. The main feature of this armament is the ability to attack from far away, making it a safe option to use.

While this armament has a lot of utility due to its range (which only gets better with upgrades), it has incredibly low damage, making it fairly useless against boss kaiju. Still, it has very situational uses for clearing away smaller kaiju from a distance.

8 Anti-Ground Hunter Missile

The Anti-Ground Hunter Missile is one of the G3 Sentinels’ more powerful attacks. It is the G3 Sentinels’ only armor-piercing move, and it hits a fairly small area. Since this move only hits grounded kaiju, it’s important to ground any aerial kaiju before using this move.

Unlike some of the other armor-piercing moves available to the other generations of Sentinels, the Anti-Ground Hunter Missile doesn’t exactly do that much damage. Still, since it is the only armor-piercing move available to G3 Sentinels, having it is absolutely a necessity.

7 Missile Rain

Missile Rain is easily the most visually exciting armament in 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, as it releases a massive wave of missiles over a large area. The area of effect is massive, and almost no kaiju will be able to avoid being hit by this attack.

While Missile Rain is certainly fun to use, it’s not exactly the most efficient way to clear out kaiju. The missiles do low damage, so larger kaiju will most likely be unaffected. Still, this move is great for situations where a large amount of kaiju are swarming the terminal.

6 Homing Missile

This armament fires a slow-moving missile that causes a large explosion once it makes contact with its target. The explosion has a large range and does a lot of damage, making it very good for clearing out a group of advancing kaiju.

While Homing Missile is very strong, having to account for its travel time can make it a bit difficult to use in a pinch. Nevertheless, this move does a lot of damage and is useful even against larger kaiju that have more defense.

5 Hyper Condenser

The Hyper Condenser is a passive armament that only Tomi Kisaragi can obtain. When equipped, it allows her to fire two shots of Main Battery Heavy Railgun at once in exchange for extra EP. This boosts the damage of Main Battery Heavy Railgun greatly.

The addition of the Hyper Condenser allows Kisaragi to kill even armored kaiju with the Main Battery Heavy Railgun, making it a powerful endgame weapon. While the increased EP cost is not ideal, it is more than made up by the increase in damage.

4 Main Battery Heavy Railgun

The Main Battery Heavy Railgun is one of the more basic armaments that G3 Sentinels will get, but it is also one of their more useful armaments. It has decent range and power, making it a good option for taking out some of the larger kaiju that show up later in the game.

While the Main Battery Heavy Railgun lacks armor-piercing, it retains damage utility since it can be used in a variety of situations, unlike many of the G3 Sentinels’ other weapons. The Main Battery Heavy Railgun is a must-have for the G3 Sentinels.

3 Main Battery Mega Railgun

An upgrade to the Main Battery Heavy Railgun unique to Keitaro Miura. This version of the armament has the same range and area of effect but is much more powerful in comparison. This essentially replaces the Main Battery Heavy Railgun in the endgame, when kaiju are much more powerful.

The Main Battery Mega Railgun naturally uses more EP than its base version, but that is an easy sacrifice for the power that it offers. Main Battery Mega Railgun is absolutely necessary for endgame maps where extremely powerful kaiju appear.

2 Super Large Missile

The Super Large Missile is one of, if not the, most powerful armaments in the game. It hits a large area for massive amounts of damage and tends to clear away enemies in an instant.

Despite its power and range, the Super Large Missile costs a massive amount of EP and enforces a long cooldown, forcing the user to wait 12 seconds before acting again. These are massive drawbacks, which can make using the Super Large Missile unappealing. However, there are certain situations that require the use of the missile, and the drawbacks can be mitigated.

1 EMP Stunner

EMP armaments are most certainly the most important types of weapons in the game, and EMP Stunner is likely to be the first of that category that players will obtain. The weapon deals very little damage, but when enhanced can hit a massive radius that nearly covers the entire map.

EMP Stunner may not deal damage, but it is easily one of the most useful armaments in the game. It can be used at any time to keep kaiju from hitting the terminal and can ground aerial kaiju so they can be destroyed by G1 Sentinels. EMP Stunner is a requirement, and your G3s should all have it equipped.
