The participating walkers came from China, the United States, Japan, Rwanda, Pakistan and other countries, reports Xinhua.

The annual festival, launched in 2005, featured three events - 5km, 10km and 20km.

Other Chinese cities such as Harbin, Qingdao and Xi’an will also host walking festivals.
