RELATED: Dying Light: How To Get Grappling Hook

Without a doubt, Dying Light is one of the best zombie games that has been released in the last decade. With the second game looking to be released later this year, fans are looking for ways to spice the game up and keep it interesting. This is where mods come in.

Updated on December 11, 2021, by Ritwik Mitra: Dying Light is the game that finally brought some goodwill back to Techland’s name after the bad rep they’d received while wording on the Dead Island series. The combination of parkour and zombie-killing was surprisingly entertaining and made for one of the biggest and most pleasant surprises of 2015.

With Dying Light 2 right around the corner, there’s no better time to get into this amazing post-apocalyptic parkour game than right now. PC gamers can enhance their enjoyment of the game even more by downloading the following best Dying Light mods.

15 All Items In Shop

While Dying Light is a pretty engaging title, the progression system can get somewhat grating for players. This is especially true on Hard difficulty on a new playthrough, where players might get frustrated by checking out the shop all the time only to come out with barely any good equipment.

This mod makes it so that this issue becomes a thing of the past. Now, all items are present in the shop from the get-go, meaning that players don’t have to risk the chance of missing out on some of the better equipment in the game.

14 DLC Weapons Overhaul

The weapons introduced in Dying Light’s DLC are pretty fun to use. However, the weapons are somewhat unreliable due to a ton of factors, such as low durability.

This mod does exactly what is stated in the title and makes these DLC weapons a mainstay in the player’s arsenal. Given how enjoyable these weapons are, the majority of Dying Light players would definitely appreciate these changes.

13 Auto-Learn All Blueprints

The blueprint system present in Dying Light is a pretty neat way to learn about certain items in the game. However, after a point, it can get somewhat annoying to learn all these blueprints in the game.

This is where the Auto-Learn All Blueprints mod comes into the picture. It does exactly what is stated in the title and lets players learn all their blueprints without any input on their end.

12 Grappling Hook Modifications

The grappling hook is a great addition to Dying Light. It makes traversal way smoother and enjoyable for obvious reasons.

However, some players might find the grappling hook to be a tad bit limited for their tastes. Thankfully, with this mod, the grappling hook is improved to such an extent that it can be used all the time and has its distance doubled too!

11 Dying Light SweetFX

There are various visual overhauls available to make Dying Light prettier to look at. However, none of them are as popular and aesthetically pleasing as this Dying Light SweetFX preset.

It removes the annoying filter all over the game and makes the visuals sharper. The world of Dying Light has never looked better, making this mod a must-have for players who are very particular about the visuals in their games.

10 I Am Legion

Many players out there are always looking to increase the challenge that any game offers. While Dying Light might be tough for some people, others have found ways to quickly maneuver around the city and get past the zombie hordes that are trying to consume them.

The “I am Legion” mod helps to increase the difficulty of the game by adding more zombies. This mod also makes zombies spawn more frequently, and increases their aggressiveness. If that still doesn’t sound like enough, the mod also decreases the amount of ammo that players can find.

9 Skyfall

Those who are tired of replaying Dying Light’s story and DLC can take a break by playing some of the various story mods for the game. Many players agree that Skyfall is one of the best story add-ons to download.

While some fans acknowledge that this mod does appear to be unfinished in spots, it offers more insight into the protagonist’s mind. The mod follows Kyle Crane as he delves into his own mind to get over his past trauma. The story has him married to a woman named Jade, with whom he has a daughter.

8 Ultimate Ninja and Booster

This mod offers more of a challenge, while at the same time making the protagonist more powerful. It is a refreshing change from the standard combat that tends to get stale after a while.

This mod changes Kyle’s attacks to give them a little more oomph. He will now be able to send enemies flying over buildings with his powerful dropkick. This mod also boosts health, stamina, and bare-handed attacks. Players will still need to pay attention to the enemies because this mod enhances them as well, and they will be able to deal significantly more damage.

7 Advanced Combat

The Advanced Combat mod is another one that helps change up the game’s fights. Tired of the standard hacking and slashing of weapons? Is the dropkick not flashy enough? With the Advanced Combat mod, players will get access to a wide variety of new attacks to assault enemies with.

It enhances kicks so that they stun zombies. Players can also run faster while using parkour, and grab dropped weapons with the grappling hook. This mod also gives players the ability to execute wall runs and superkicks.

6 Advanced Moves

While the vanilla gameplay of Dying Light is engaging enough as is, there are some players who want to see more variety when it comes to the gameplay present in this title. This is where the Advanced Moves mod comes into the picture.

It adds a bunch of new skills to the game while tweaking existing ones as well. The changes are so broad that players will definitely notice these changes if they’ve been used to the base gameplay of Dying Light for quite some time.

5 All Climates

The All Climates mod enhances the game’s weather system to make it more dynamic, allowing players to experience multiple kinds of weather throughout the day. It can rain in the morning, be foggy in the afternoon, and then clear at night.

There are 12 different weather effects that players can experience once they download this mod. It’s great for players who are tired of the basic weather system and want to give it a serious upgrade. Keep in mind that all of the weather effects are completely random and uncontrollable.

4 Mutations

Mutations add new abilities to the player’s off-hand, which allow players to access the elements in both offensive and defensive ways. The Arctic element allows players to crystalize the water molecules in the air and in enemy bodies. Vampiric allows players to draw blood from nearby infected and use it as a weapon. Toxic grants players the ability to create toxic clouds in the air that will make infected enemies wretch.

There are even more abilities in this mod for players to check out, which allow them to harness time, lightning, and fire.

3 Little Big World

This mod doesn’t change the map of the game or anything about the combat; rather, it miniaturizes it. It is an interesting break from the standard way of playing the game and it makes it feel like everything is in an alternate reality. Battle will now take place on tabletops and chairs. the large environment is something to behold.

Everything towers above the player. The mod itself places players inside a dollhouse of horrors, where enemies wait around every corner. It was created as a contest entry, but it quickly became a fan-favorite mod to challenge players as they hop across furniture to escape.

2 Easier Lockpicking

While players can download plenty of cheats to enhance Dying Light, many don’t think of the Easier Lockpicking mod as a cheat. Instead, players consider it as more of a quality of life fix for the game.

Since its release, players have complained about how hard the lockpicking in the game is. Many have also complained that players can’t just break locks or break the boxes themselves, since many of them are made of wood. While this mod doesn’t completely remove lockpicking from the game, it does make it a lot easier and less frustrating.

1 Bear Arms

No, this mod doesn’t give the player bear arms (though that would be hilarious). This mod adds 22 weapons to the game and reworks some older weapons to make them better. Players will now have access to new shotguns, an LMG, and a bunch of melee weapons.

As for the reworks, some older weapons that used to be throwables now have a melee version. Other weapons that used to be melee only now have a throwable version as well.

Dying Light was released on January 26, 2015, and is available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
